Treat Your Website Like Your Top Salesperson

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard “I just want something to put up on the web”. Don’t get me wrong, something is better than nothing, but most people just don’t understand how powerful your website can be. If you take the right steps, your website can work just as hard for you as any salesperson for a fraction of the cost and you never have to worry about sick days, vacation days, bonuses, raises, etc. Now, I’m not saying you don’t need a sales force behind your business, but to ignore the potential of a well thought out, well oiled machine that is your website, is just irresponsible.

With over 28 million small business in America today for an estimated 54 percent of all domestic revenue, much of which is generated through online sales, but nearly half of small businesses nationwide operate without a website, according to a surprising new survey of small business conducted by Clutch, a B2B research firm.

“Everything you do in marketing is to drive awareness. Yes, there is an initial expense and to maintain traction. Even if they get a personal referral, the first thing a lot of people do is go visit a website,” said Mark Cummings, owner/creative director of Wayne, NJ-based Cummings Creative Group.



You don’t have to be selling a products to justify a website for your business. People want to see a website. This establishes credibility and gives the customer a sense of convenience.

On that note, it is no longer a luxury to have a mobile friendly website. People expect for your website to work on mobile devices. There are over 2.6 billion smartphone users worldwide and over 37% of all website visits come from mobile devices.  Making your website “Mobile Friendly” means people don’t have to zoom in and out to read content and your website automatically recognizes when you are on a mobile device at which point it changes the layout to accommodate a different space.

In closing, you are missing out on a huge market of available customers by not having a website. It may seem like a daunting, overwhelming task, but that’s what we are here for…to make this process less stressful and take as much of the guess work out of it as possible.
